MBS (Team MBS) will be holding a charity event on Saturday 24th March 2018 at Essex Outdoors in Danbury to raise money for a project we are is the process of building in Westcliff for a disabled young lady called Amy May.
Amy had a catastrophic allergic reaction resulting in serious brain injury in April 2014 and currently resides in a care home in Brentwood while her family’s home is in Westcliff. MBS have already started the the extension for the family – we are building a 2 bed annexe with bathroom facilities for Amy and her carer. This will allow Amy to spend more time with her family and help her greatly with the challenges she faces in her day to day life and ongoing recovery. If you would like to follow Amy’s journey please go to www.amymaytrust.com
From the initial meeting and tender, Ian Freshwater (MD of MBS) became more and more involved with the project and the positive effect this annexe will have on Amy and her family. As such Ian has committed to run the project at cost and using his MBS contacts for materials and or labour bringing the whole project in at a fraction of the cost. Many contractors giving their time and materials for free or at greatly reduced prices.
Quote from Ian Freshwater “as soon as I met with Mr and Mrs Shead, I knew I had to do something to help this family. Through the incredible support of my team, sub contractor and supplies we will be able to deliver their vision, allowing Amy to move home and the family more time together.” Ian further added “It has been an incredible privilege to run this build, the support of all involved has been overwhelming. I wish to thank each person individually, we couldn’t have brought the project this far without them. The fundraising event is going to be fun and with all the people taking part, it just shows the effect the Shead family and especially Amy May have had on us.”
