Fire Doors
Fire Door Installation
Fire doors play a critical role in preventing the spread of fire and smoke throughout a building, incorrectly fitted doors can lead to smoke and fire passing through gaps, ultimately endangering lives. All installations are carried out by our directly employed qualified BMTrada operatives who upload the specifications of the door onto the Bolster system using a unique reference pin system plus a photographical record before, during and after works.

Fire Door Maintenance
As well as ensuring a fire door is installed within guidelines, it is just as important to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the door is assessed regularly too. At MBS our operatives are qualified to repair and maintain fire doors by following compliance and maintenance programs under the BMTrada scheme. Routine checks cover the compliance of the door components, hinges, frames and closers.
Fire Stopping
Where fire compartmentation or barriers have been breached within a building, the spread of fire and smoke increases dramatically. Fire Stopping will reinstate the compartmentation, our BM Trada Fire Stopping operatives at MBS will ensure Cavity Barriers, Linear Joints, Intumescent Coated Batts and Coatings are installed to protect against the heat of a fire up to 220oC

The MBS BMTrada Team are routinely audited by BMTrada to ensure their knowledge constantly meets industry requirements. This, alongside the use of the well-known industry recognised management system Bolster, enables MBS to provide traceable history of findings following remedial works and certification for complete transparency and accountability.
Some of our recently completed fire door projects include:
- Installation of 13 Steel Fire Double Door Sets in the Undercroft tunnel at Basildon Hospital
- Completion of a Fire Door Installation Programme at St Peters Hospital
- Intrusive Surveys / Remedials of Fire Doors across the Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust
